This is my third article on the new blog and this time I wanna talk around the topic: Whether a paid review on Johnchow.com really worthy? Or just a waste of money? Why I wanna talk about such thing, that’s because I have just read a 16-page report written by Alvin Phang, in which he made a totally complain on John chow’s paid review, from price to Johnchow’s unprofessional way when writting, which made me such a big surprise since I am a big fan for the mogul. Actually I was a fan of Chow before discovering many other famous blogs, e.g. problogger or DoshDosh.

In the 16-page report, Phang indicated that John’s review brought him nearly 500 unique visitors (based on the date from google analyztics) with 0 sale. He thought that’s because John has missed some important point which could attract reader in his review. Phang’s conclusion comes with a negative rating for Johnchow’s review and adviced us researching the hobbies of the bloggers who will write a paid review for ya, I think its reasonable. Everyone can make a deep review on sth one interested. I felt really pity on Phang before the last sentence of the report came out. The sentence said he would do a $50 paid review on readers who reviewing his blog first. That made him absolutely uncomfortable. As an advanced web user or a newbie blogger, I can still found that it’s a bit greedy. When reading Phang’s traffic curve in early September, I really feel a bit funny coz … coz his daily reach is only dozen per day. Frankly, I can easily build traffic to more than 1 thousand per day with no difficulty. But his… maybe he was a newbie blogger during that period. For the alexa rank of his site is around 60 thousand today, that’s really good work! The free report can be downloaded here. … Read the full story here.
